5 Step Critique-
Step 1: Observe
Step 2: Describe
I see two photos of clouds. In both of the photos the clouds are white, and the sky is bright blue. In the foreground are green trees. On the photos the clouds are arranged in different patterns. They are both 5x7 and printed on glossy paper. It has been framed by a black mat frame.
Step 3: Analyze
In this photo, contrast creates movement. The contrast between the bright blue sky and the white clouds make your eye move through the piece. You eye is attracted to the white clouds, and since the clouds flow throughout the piece, you eye automatically follows them. In this photo, color creates emphasis. The bright blue of the sky is emphasized.
Step 4: Interpret
The mood is this piece is very calm. Clouds give you the sensation that you are floating, and when you think of floating, you think calm, collected, and relaxed. The purpose of this photo is to help people find a better state of mind.
Step 5: Evaluate
I like this piece. I like the brightness of the photo. One thing that went well was the amount of clouds in the picture. I picked the right day to take the photo, because of the many clouds in the sky. One thing that didn't go so well was that the editing portion doesn't look the same on both of the photos.
