My Plan-
For this shoot I want to take pictures of the barres that line the walls of my studio and edit them in color and black and white.
My Photoshoot-
For this shoot I took these photos at my dance studio. I took photos from different angles, getting pictures of the length of the barre and the ends of the barre. I tried taking them while setting the camera on top of the barre and below it. Also, in the photos, I would occasionally get the door or the mirror. I like the photos that show the clearest texture of the barre the best.
My Edits-
These are my edited photos for this project. I edited the ones that showed the most detail of the wood. I decided to edit three out of four in color because thought it brought out the detail the best. I edited the top one in black and white because it gave the photo more of a story. I turned up the contrast, vibrance, and saturation, hoping to make the barre pop out from the grey background. I really like how the photo in black and white turned out.
My Printed Photo-
This is the photo that I ended up printing. I really like how this photo turned out. It is of a barre in my studio. I ended up making it black and white because I liked the vibe that it gave off. I made sure to turn up the saturation so that the barre would really pop out of the wall. I also like the addition of the door in the background. The close up of the barre creates movement through the photo. The contrast between the barre and the background helps to create movement through the piece. When I made the photo black and white I messed with the levels to find the perfect balance between the barre and the background. This photo could be interpreted many ways but what I think is the main thought when you see this photo is just something informational to show the inside of a dance studio. Overall, I think this photo is successful in executing my theme of dance because it shows another aspect of it in a unique way.
